Ofir Bar-On
Composer
He composed original music for Passport, a production by Passport Ensemble.
He began studying piano at the age of eight and later studied composition with Dr. Michael Shenhav.
During his studies at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, alongside his formal musical training under Prof. Michael Wolpe, Ilan Mochiach, Dr. Boaz Ben-Moshe, and the late Dr. Erez Rapoport, he began collaborating with artists from the fields of theatre, film, animation, and dance.
Through these collaborations, he explored the integration of music and sound into broader, multidisciplinary artistic works. These experiences, particularly his work in film, led him to a deeper and more conscious examination of the complex relationships between sound, music, drama, narrative, and imagery.
He has composed music for and collaborated on productions with the Revolution Orchestra, Doron Tavori, Shahar Marom, Jackie Pearl, Maayan Resnick, Berry Sakharof, Asaf Avidan, the Train Theater, and others.
He currently works as a musician in playback theatre, a film composer, and a teacher of piano and music theory.
